Dr. Diane was born and raised in Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from McGill University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiology in 1994, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. She then pursued a General Residency Program in Syracuse, New York. Upon its completion, she moved back to Canada to be closer to family and has been practising in Ottawa since then. “Dr. D” returned to New York to complete her training in Advanced Anaesthesia Techniques with an emphasis in IV sedation and is very happy to be able to provide this special service to her patients. Presently, Dr. Dmytrowski is continuing her education at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, one of world’s premier postgraduate dental teaching centers, which specializes in the training of neuromuscular and cosmetic dentistry.
On a more personal note, Diane is married to Dave, a former dental school classmate, and together, they have two young children, Emma and Ethan. Diane enjoys biking, hiking, and traveling.
Dr. Kirsty Large was born in a small town in Wales called Aberystwyth. She lived there until the age of five at which point her family moved to Montreal, Quebec. She graduated from McGill University where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine. She then completed a General Practice Residency program at the Montreal Children's Hospital which she really enjoyed, as well as IV Sedation training at the Georgia Medical College in Augusta. She is also a certified provider of Invisalign "the clear alternative to braces".
She moved to Ottawa in 2009, and has been practicing with Ottawa Sedation Dentists ever since. She is a volunteer dentist for the Ottawa Mission Dental Program which aims to improve the dental health of Ottawa’s homeless by offering accessible professional dental care. When Kirsty is away from the office, she enjoys hot yoga and spending time with her Maltese, Hunter.
Dr. Rania El-Hawary (“Dr. Rania”) was born in Toronto, Ontario. She graduated from University of Ottawa in 2004 where she earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chemical Engineering. She then pursued her dental degree and graduated as a D.M.D. from McGill University in 2008. Completing a General Practice Residency, also at McGill University, she then moved into private practice immediately in 2009. Dr. El-Hawary practiced dentistry in Montreal and Toronto. Dr. El-Hawary joined Ottawa Sedation Dentists and travelled to the USA to complete a certified training course in IV sedation. Dr. El-Hawary enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and keeps up to date with a variety of continuing education courses.
Dr. El-Hawary lives in her hometown of Ottawa with her husband and her baby son, Adam. She enjoys yoga, baking and spending time with family and friends.
Dr. Dora Flores was born in Managua, Nicaragua. She moved with her family to Ottawa when she was eight years old, but returned to Nicaragua after finishing high school. She went on to get her dental degree, and after graduating in 2002, she worked for one year as a DDS in Nicaragua. After that year, she decided to return to Ottawa where she worked as a dental assistant for 3 years.
When she was accepted into the highly competitive International Dentist Degree Program at the University of Manitoba, she made the move out to Winnipeg. She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine Degree in 2008, and subsequently worked in Manitoba for 3 years.
In 2011 Dr. Flores decided to move back to Ottawa to be closer to her family and has since been working with Ottawa Sedation Dentists. She has completed an advanced dental training course in IV Sedation from the Georgia Medical College in Augusta, Georgia. She has also volunteered with aboriginal communities in Manitoba, been on humanitarian mission trips to Nicaragua, travelled to Korea and China, and enjoys being a mom to her two year old son, Alexander.
